Once upon a time, there
was a king whose name was Alexander the Great. He had a
sister. His sister was blond and beautiful. Alexander had conquered almost the whole world. He wanted to live for ever. So he went to see the wise men and ask for their advice. The wise men said: "Dearest king, this is a bit difficult. You must find the water of life. It is in a pit. |
| However, it is dangerous to go there because first you must go across two mountains that open and close. Then you must kill the dragon that guards the water of life." |
| Alexander
the Great decided to take the risk. He rode his horse, Voukefalas, that could fly although he didn’t have wings. He went across the two mountains, killed the dragon and filled a bottle with the water of life. |

When he returned, he left the bottle aside for a while. |
| His sister saw it but
she thought it was common water. She took it and watered a wild onion with it. The wild onion never withered. When Alexander the Great realized what had happened, got very angry and cursed his sister. She turned into a mermaid. Since then she has been living in the sea. |

Every time she sees a ship, she asks the sailors if Alexander is alive.When they say no she raises huge waves and sinks the ship. |
