Johnny and Caroline were twins. They had ginger hair, turquoise eyes and a very freckled face. They were very nice and playfull. They lived in Schull, a really nice village in the South coast of Ireland. |

One school day, They went to Mount Gabriel on excursion with their
teachers, Miss. O' Regan and Mr. Reagan. They were sitting near Lough Oidheann. Even though some of them already knew the legend they were listening attentively. Mr. Reagan was telling the story so well that they could even hear the crunches of the dry oak leaves. Near the lake there were a few green fields. They were so concentrating on the legend that they didn’t realise the sky was getting darker than ever. |
It was
very strange. |

It was as Mr. Reagan had just explained to them in the legend. What was happening?Why were they watching something that had already happened so many years ago?. They decided to go back to Schull as soon as possible. On the way back, they noticed that the path they followed on the way up was not the same. Now it was narrower and full of horse tracks. Caroline, Johnny and Mr. Reagan were so shocked they didn’t know what to do. Finally, they started to walk towards the market. What was happening? They asked a salesman but he didn't answer. |

They realised that they couldn't see themselves in any mirror. Could anybody from Schull see or listen to them? They were really astonished but they continued visiting the village. Finally, at the end of the street, they saw a house with a sign on it. "Library," it said. Caroline, Johnny and Mr. Reagan decided to go in. They didn’t know at all what they where looking for but maybe in their desperation they were expecting to find some information in the books. They started to look at some of them. When they arrived at the village they had the biggest surprise: Everything had changed! The streets were not paved. There were no traffic lights. |
There was a market instead of the local shop. People were wearing strange clothes. It was like being in the middle ages. After a while, they found a book entitled " Our village Schull." Once they read the book they understood. They were at Schull but in
Middle Ages. |
Then, they read the contents and they saw a chapter entitled "Solutions for Schull." Mr. Reagan read carefully the contents of all that chapter. When he finished reading, as the book said, he looked at the last page. He found a little bag. The small bag fell immediately to the floor. There was a message as well and it said "You are going to find some seeds. You have to plant them and make them grow. You have to water them with holy wine. That’s the only way to return to your time." So, now they knew what they had to do. First of all they had to guess the missing words. They were going to take the book with them to continue reading in order to follow all the steps in the right way. |

| Meanwhile they started to feel quite hungry. As they were passing by the market in Main Street they had some bacon and some fish and chips. |

Afterwards, They could concentrate on what they had to do. They passed the street. There at that time there was the Secondary School . They also noticed that all things that they touched became invisible. Finally, they reached the catholic church of Saint Mary. Maybe there they were going to find the first thing they needed. The wine that the priest usually used for the mass. They decided to use that wine to water the seeds. According to the book, seeds grew quicker than with water. More or less they take a month to grow. They had the first ingredient but they couldn’t waste their time. They had to continue looking for all that they needed to return to their own time. |
| It said in the book, that the
next ingredient they needed was the pearl of a blue oyster. The pearl was deep in the sea
and it only opened during the day. "If we don’t have any scuba equipment. How can we are going
to be able to get the pearl?" asked Johnny.
" I know - said Caroline- If we join lots of rushes as a large breathing scuba tube then perhaps we will reach the bottom of the sea. "" Ok." said Mr. Reagan. |
So, they picked up some rushes and they hollowed them all. Suddenly, the same question came to their minds: "who is going to go to the bottom of the sea? " "Not me!" said Mr. Reagan. "OK. I will go" said Johnny a
little disappointed. They put the rushes together and Johnny picked them. He went down until he arrived into a cave. He came into the cave. While he was swimming he saw lots of different sorts of fishes and mussels. He continued swimming through the cave until he found a big bright room. He crossed it and because he coudn’t see anything he continued. When he arrived to the other side of the room, he realised that there wasn’t any water, so he went on walking. |

He arrived in another room but found no oyster. He started to be a bit worried. He didn’t find anything. He walked and walked. The cave was really enormous with lots of rooms. Suddenly, He stepped into something and fell down. When he got up he saw a shiny blue oyster in front of him. "A Blue oyster!" he shouted. He caught it immediately. Although it wasn’t big it was as heavy as a giant oyster. But now that he had it at last he was going to make the effort to carry it to the surface. |

He continued swimming and holding the oyster on his hand till he reached the top of thee water. There, there were waiting for him Mr. Reagan and Caroline. They tried to open it straight away but they couldn’t. On the book he found out that they needed a key and that the key was on Fastnet Rock island. They found an old wooden boat. They came up on the boat and they started to go to the island. |
| As soon as they arrived to Fastnet Rock they began to search. But it was very difficult to find the key. Johnny was losing all his expectations. He was very angry and he kicked a stone. When the stone fell down on the floor, it opened and a key came down. "The key!" shouted Johnny. |
They went back and once on land they opened the oyster. The pearl was there. Full of excitement they decided to have a look at ancient Schull. They went where there was the planetarium They asked a man if he could tell them where it was. That man didn’t answer. They remembered that they were invisible to the other people. They saw an open area and they understood that there there was the school... the Secondary Community school of Schull, too. "I like going to Bantry!" shouted Johnny. They decided to go to the bus Eireann bus station but now there were only carriages and horses. |

| "Caroline," said Mr.
Reagan. "We are in the past! So, let’s go by horse." The track to Bantry
was very hard because there were lots of stones. They saw some oak forests. Some of them were cut. They used oak wood to make fishing boats. Later on, they arrived to Bantry, there there was the market. The market was full of shops and there were lots of people buying and selling their stuff. Suddenly, they started to be hungry. Of course! They hadn't had breakfast. They were not used to eat so late... |

They found a box with four apples and a round bread in it. They swallowed them all and they went to a more calmer place. They walked a lot because they wanted to see the river Armanagh. When they reached the river they found a family of three horses drinking. After having a rest they tried to catch the horses. Caroline, was nearly going to catch one. She pulled his leg but the horse escaped. Caroline fell on the floor. |
When
she stood up, and had a look on the floor, she saw some little shinning points. She had a
closer look, She saw that there were not little points. There were some seeds, nearly
microscopic. Mr. Reagan asked what those seeds were. "That's it! Look at this Caroline! We've got it at last! Now we can get out of here! Look what it says on the paper: You are going to find some seeds. You have to PLANT them where you APPEAR and make them grow. You have to water them with holy wine. That’s the only way to come back to your time." They had found the solution to the problem. They just had to plant some seeds. |

They had to work hard. "Now what we have to do is to plant the seeds quickly", he said. They walked until they arrived at where their adventure had started. They planted the seeds and watered them with holy water. In an hour, the plant started to grow. An hour later, the fruit started to grow. It was round and red, like a cherry but three times bigger. They ate them quickly. They were very good and tasted like apple chicken. "I want to sleep", said Caroline. "Me too," said Mr. Reagan. |

They fell asleep. Suddenly, It started to rain and strong big lightning fell down near them. Then.. "Johnny, Caroline, wake up." It was Miss. O'Regan's voice. "Where are we?" asked Caroline. "In the mountain" said Miss. O' Reagan. "You've fallen sleep. You were dreaming." Caroline explained to the teachers her incredible dream and they found it so interesting they decided to make a book about the adventure. The title of the book was..... Trapped in time. |
