wal1.jpg (10833 bytes) The village of Penmachno is set in a rural area on the bank of the river Machno which is in the upper reaches of the Conwy Valley. We are in the county of Conwy in North wales. Our school is surrounded by forests and fields
As you can see, one of the main industries in the valley used to be slate quarrying, but by today all the quarries have closed.

Sheep farming is now the main industry as well as timber growing by the Forest Enterprise.
